The CP-03 standard nozzle has been a favorite of many pilots over the years.  This original nozzle revolutionized the aerial application industry over 25 years ago. There are some pilots that still have their original set from 10-20 years ago. These pilots have been able to do this by keeping a good maintenance schedule. As recommended by CP cleaning and checking the nozzle after each season will extend the life of any CP nozzle.

For some there has been one issue that has caused a bit of frustration out there: cracked nozzle bodies. During annual inspection some have found an issue with the body of the CP-03 or CP-09 cracking at the nipple. This will occur when the nozzle is tightened down on the nipple too far. Wrenches or any other tightening device should not be used, only hand tightening is what is necessary to install any CP nozzles. To address this issue we took it to our engineer Calvin Kroes.

Reviewing the other aerial body structures that have no issues, Calvin chose to match the threaded thickness of the other bodies. “Beefing up” the outside of the body will increase the durability of this nozzle. This new enhanced body can withstand more pressure for those that have more hand strength than others! The new CPA203-B is expected to be  released into stock in time for the NAAA convention in December 2015. We appreciate and listen to customer feedback on all our products and will continue to strive for excellence in all that we produce.
